Mischief Maker

It all started when Mommy nodded off....

One mischievous little boy noticed Mommy fell asleep while he was watching cartoons.
He thought, Boy! what a good time to do something naughty!
Little did Mommy know she had a pen sitting within his sight.

When Mommy awoke, this is what she found...

Silly Sleepy Mommy, never leave a pen within your little boy's grip.
Naughty Little Boy, don't draw on anything but coloring paper.
Thank Heavens's for a BATH!!!

And, thank heaven's it washed off Very Easily without scrubbing too hard!

A Conference View

Since Matt had been up there the week prior and thought I'd love it, we took a drive up Cedar Mtn during General Conference to see the fall colors. When we got there we were very surprised to see snow on the top and fall colors below. It was beautiful!

Kayley was freezing but happy!
Here's the typical group shot at the top. Matt, Beau, Kayley, and Allan (my crazy nephew!) It was like 30 degrees and he refused to wear his coat, they turkey!!

Here's a vista shot from the top. It was so beautiful! I wish it wasn't so overcast. Oh well, beggers can't be choosers.

Oh Lovely Zion

As some of you know we've had Matt's cousin, James, and his wife, Kayley, staying with us. James is a trucker and is, therefore, gone. A LOT. So, when he was home we all packed into the trusty Jeep and drove out to Zion for a quick hike. We went on the Canyon Overlook trail just outside the mile-long tunnel.

The tunnel made Kayley really nervous, but the hike made all the worries go away. James kept wanting to hike off the beaten path and Kayley was in awe the whole time.
I just want to know when I lost the awe for this place. I wish I hadn't grown up around this place so I could more easily realize how amazing it is.

Of course I had to do something stupid in such a beautiful environment, so here's the, "Yep, I'm a dork." shot for the day. Matt was so confused as to why I wanted to "pretend" to climb over the railing. Now that I see the photo, I kinda wonder the same thing. I think it was lack of oxygen to the brain from the hike, etc. (I'll take whatever excuse I can use..)
And, of course, the guys had to act tough out in nature. It all started with, "Hey, let's roll that boulder down the hill," and then a, " Yeah, it'll be cool!" I hollered a little and we ended up with 10 picture attempts to get enough lighting on their faces straining to pretend to move a heavy rock.

So, here ya go guys, you look really tough.

Let's Play Dress Up!!

We went to the Prax's to hang out for a few hours. As usual, us mom's got a chatting away and the kiddies ran off to play.
Later they popped out in hats and bags, most likely dressed by Emma. Never, did I ever think I'd see Beau in a pink beanie. Oh well, he didn't care, so neither will I, for now...

Here's the 3 kids in their garb. Sunhats and Beanies?!? Summer AND winter? Who knew? Silly kids :)

It's been a long day, Buddy.

I felt like the crappiest mom on earth when I got home from choir rehearsal a few weeks ago. Matt asked me if Beau'd had a nap that day. I thought about it and realized he hadn't. I asked why and he proferred this photo of my little bug snuggled on the floor. Poor kid was totally pooped! On the good side, this is a really sweet photo. Sleep tight kid.

I just couldn't help it.

There really isn't a story to tell about this picture. We were hanging out in our hotel room watching Cars, (ugh,) and Beau started giggling. I look over and he's sitting like this and I grabbed my camera as fast as I could. Just looking at him smiling like that spreads the biggest smile across my face. I just had to put it on my blog. What a cute kid!

Reno Fun, Not 911

It should be a scandal how nice our room was over Labor Day weekend. All-be-it, we did have to share the building with "burners" from Burning Man, but whatever. The bed below was Amazing! and the flat screen tv, Enormous! and should I mention the over-the-top tv in the bathroom, WHAT?!? Scandalous, people. And Craaaaazyyy!! But, that's just my opinion.

So, yeah, and I'm sure you all know the story by now, but I'm catching up... Anyways... We went to Reno over Labor Day weekend. We love to go because my brother, Trevor, lives there, but also because of the annual Rib Cookoff. We got an extra special treat this year because our good friends The Carter's came from SLC too! We toured the cookoff and had lots of fun and good food. WOW! It was was so good this year! We didn't vote for People's Choice, but my vote would've been for "Butch's Smack Your Lips BBQ" and they won this year! Yay!

The boys, Zayden and Beau, had fun together but were tired at the cookoff. You can see Zayden is trying to slip out of his stroller... Silly kid. Also, Jared tried to stuff his face with 'Texas-style potatoes' on a dare from yours truly. It was hilarious, Thanks Jared!

And finally, I just wanted to mention what a silly husband I have. He looked so cute and strange in this hat I just couldn't help but giggle for a while. Now, don't get me wrong, he's not the only one who tried on these hats in our group, but I'm not coughing up the shot of me in one, no way, no how. :)

Oh, and the guy over his shoulder is bald under that hat. hehe...

We had so much fun in Reno this year with the Carters and with the Trevor Rowleys! We can't wait for next year!
